Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA offers original, high quality, and traditional karate training in Israel, under the direction of Hanshi Robert Scaglione and Kyoshi David Seeger. Leading training in Israel are Sensei David Tamir, Shichi-Dan [7th Degree Black Belt], and Sensei[s] Nir Zamir, and Shlomo Dadon, Go-Dan [5th Degree Blackbelts] . Training is available in Kfar-Saba, Herzliya, and Eilat:
Our organization dates back to Master Ansei Ueshiro bringing Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate from Okinawa to the USA in 1962, following the invitation of US soldiers returning home from their overseas service on the Island of Okinawa, where they were trained by Master Ueshiro at Master Shoshin Nagamine's dojo. Master Ueshiro was sent as Okinawa's official karate representative to the US. He settled in New York City, where he eventually passed the responsibility of teaching karate to his right-hand man, Hanshi Robert Scaglione. Hanshi Scaglione continues to actively train and lead us on the Karate-Do path.

To propagate the art of Shorin-Ryu Karate USA, its kata and techniques, as handed down by our founder Grand Master Ansei Ueshiro. To preserve and protect the history, traditions, methods and integrity of Shorin-Ryu Karate USA. To develop students to their maximum potential in body, mind and spirit; through courtesy, propriety, self-discipline and the ecstasy of hard work fostered by our dojo -- the sacred training halls -- of Shorin-Ryu Karate USA [in Israel].
I come to you only with Karate. My hands are empty, but I fear no man. Should I be forced to defend myself, my honor, or my principles -- should it be a matter of right or wrong, life or death -- then here are my weapons: my empty hands.
Our style is not designed for gaming competitions. We do not train for scoring points nor getting medals. We train for how to disable multiple attacking opponents in a street environment. Our style does not involve wrestling nor grappling -- just shifting, blocking, and precision striking, using various parts of the body. Our style is suitable for both males and females of varying shapes and sizes. We have a wide variety of fighting techniques to choose from.
Our training involves vigorous physical exercises including stretching; designed and perfected over 1000+ years of development. Our safe exercises and stretching facilitate the body's proper internal operations and flows. Our students have consistently realized health benefits.
Our training relieves the day-to-day stresses of life from work, family, financials, etc. When you finish the workout, you feel renewed and at peace from the ecstasy of hard work and sweat.
Our training involves strengthening exercises for the entire body including core abdomen/hips, back, legs, arms, hands, neck and internal organs.
Our training promotes both physical and mental discipline through hard work and sweat. The hardest part of learning karate is showing up to training class. -- that's where the development of discipline starts and continues through persevering the actual workouts.
Our training promotes self confidence with humility and patience, to help overcome the daily challenges of life.

Show-up to one of our regularly scheduled classes. You may call us to arrange your first visit. After 1st free trial class, you may sign-up.
At least twice per week in order to maintain yourself, and at least three times per week in order to advance your capabilities. If you stayed in bed for a day or more, you would gradually lose your ability to walk. Hence, in order to maintain and develop a capability, you must exercise it daily.
Full contact training in our karate style would result in fatal injuries; however, safety-controlled, contact exercises are provided and carefully managed by the Sensei [teacher], based on ability and desire of each individual student.
